It's would be nice if vistumbler can auto fetch wireless stations position on Skyhook Wireless database, they have A LOT of APs position scanned on US territory. And guess what? they have a API!
the iPhone Maps App use the Mac-Address of all stations in range, and fetch positions of all stations on SkyhookWireless database, and then triangule your current position based on signal.

Re: Auto fetch wireless stations position on Skyhook
This is something I wanted to do for a while.
I had found a post about a skyhook example in autoit a while back ( http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/topic ... _p__696674 ), but unfortunately the download no longer exists (if you notice, I made a post to that thread over a year ago). I also didn't have luck finding how to use their dll.
