vistumbler and google earth

Post by petew »

I am a newbee to this tech site and have a problem trying to get google earth to work with vistumbler v10.2. I have an hp pavillion laptop running windows 7 home premium x64 and cannot get the gps feature to map any sites. Need info on how to setup the gps feature. I have tried the three options kernal 32, netcomm and commmg with no success to connect to google earth which is installed on the same laptop. Please advise...

What type of GPS device is it?
Do you know the COM port that the GPS is assigned in windows?
You will need this to have Vistumbler connect to the GPS. (Settings->GPS settings->Com Settings->com)
To get Vistumbler to export data to Google Earth you will need to tell Vistumbler where the Google Earth EXE is in Settings->Auto-KML/Auto-Sort.
To turn on Auto-KML go to Options->Auto-KML.
To open the Network link to Google Earth and view the mapping, go to Extras->Open KML NetworkLink.

Hope this helps.
