"Auto Save Every" working?

Post by marco »

v. 10.6

On the "Save" tab, section "Auto Recovery VS1", there are three elements; Auto Recovery VS1, Delete Auto Save file on exit, and Auto Save Every 'X' Minutes. I currently have the first two check boxes unchecked with the third set to 5. I am not observing a saved file nor an updated file. Are these three elements independent of each other?

If I select "Auto Recovery VS1" saving every X minutes does occur.

Sounds like you figured it out, you need the "Auto Recovery VS1" checkbox checked for it to actually save the file.

"Auto Recovery VS1" is mainly one of the ways to protect your data in the event that vistumbler crashes. By default it gets deleted when vistumbler exits properly, but if vistumbler crashed or ended improperly the file stays so you can get back the data. Vistumbler also can recover from its MDB database file in addition to the Auto Recovery VS1 file.

Thanks Andrew for replying. Maybe children functions could be disabled / greyed out when parent functions are not selected?
