I'm not sure I understand your question, are you asking how to tell if you are Connected/Disconnected from an Access Point through Vistumbler?
The best acceleration you can get on a Mac is 9.8ms^2

Isn't that "straightforward" to tell by looking at whether the Windows network icon down in the Windows system tray? I don't think Vistumbler is involved in the AP associate/disassociate process, it's Windows driving the process. AFAIK, Vistumbler is just reporting what Windows netsh is hearing.
