Re: My Rig
I Suppose I will have to use Vistumbler/Realtek combo for the initial survey work and the DDWRT/Linksys for actual connectivity. I have never been a coder, so I will have to let coders take that ball. Will have pics today. Looking for digicam as I reply..

Re: What GPS hardware should I get?
Well.. my other hobby is Geocaching and there is a peice of code called GSAK that does that conversion from LOC and GPX http://www.gsak.net/ Umm.. If you could provide Vistumbler with a CSV text format, MSST will import from those. Won't be realtime, but will be a start?

Re: .4 mile (643m) wireless link
@ ACalcutt... IF you are running a highly directional Yagi , then I am not supprised that you did not detect it on Kenwood. Trees may cause a small amount of loss if they are in the Frensel zone of the beam.. But if they are in direct path, sure there will be a significant loss. Also expect some los...

Fultering out Null SSID's
So now my DB's are flooded with AP's not broadcasting ssid's. I am not interested in those... They are mostly just the wifi connecting the traffic signals in my area and are, for all intents , just NOISE to me. What string do I use in the filter to exclude null ssid's?

I have same GPS gear.. for $50 with software.. can't beat it. Would be nice if 'stumbler worked with MS Streets and trips software, though
