Isn't that "straightforward" to tell by looking at whether the Windows network icon down in the Windows system tray? I don't think Vistumbler is involved in the AP associate/disassociate process, it's Windows driving the process. AFAIK, Vistumbler is just reporting what Windows netsh is he...

Love the new ability to change button colors and make the fonts bigger. This is so cool, Andrew. And you're right, 12 pt font fills the buttons and starts to look weird, but for my tiny TW700 setup it will be just fine!

Another alternative is to run NetStumbler in XP and then export the files to Vistumbler. It's not as nice (by far) but it does work fine so long as NetStumbler recognizes the Wi-Fi card.

What Andrew said. Vistumbler doesn't "know" where the AP is, Vistumbler only knows where the GPS connected to the PC running Vistumbler is. So all estimates of AP position are really where the GPS position is. A neat thing about WiFiDB (the database that processes the Vistumbler log files)...
